Manufactured In Australia

Posted by Björn Rust on 09 Sep 2008

Offshore manufacturing is on the lips of many designers. It’s difficult to argue that manufacturing abroad doesn’t offer significant short term savings. The unfortunate side effect of increased competition from offshore production is the impact on local industry.

From company director David Shaw’s first award winning street furniture in 1980 and the genesis of Street and Garden Furniture Co. in 1991 to this day, our products are manufactured locally. We design for the capabilities of local fabricators and help in exploring new methods of using exiting processes. The objective of this is to maintain a strong skill base here in Australia.

To our clients this means we are able to design to their requirements with confidence and lead times normally expected from off the shelf items from Europe.
